  • Why did you choose soy wax ?
    Our candles are made of 100% soy wax which is made from soybeans - a natural, vegan and a renewable source that grows easily in many regions close to home. This is in contrast to traditional paraffin wax, which is cheaper and widely used in many high street brands; is made from petroleum. Soy wax also has a lower melting point than paraffin wax which means that soy wax burns cooler and the candles will last longer than paraffin candles. An extended candle life means that you can enjoy delicious scents for much longer which offsets the a slighly higher cost of soy wax candles. Soy wax is also naturally biodegradable and water soluble- making accidental spills easier to clean up. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burns cleaner and results in less soot.
  • What are your candles made of ?
    Our candles are made of 100% soy wax, premium phathalate-free fragrance oil and lead free wicks. The glass jars that we pour our candles into can be repurposed after the candle has lived its life.
  • Do you accept returns ?
    If we have sent you an incorrect product or if you received a broken jar of candle, then we kindly ask you to send us a picture of the product as a proof and we will be happy to send you the right product or a replacement of your broken candle (same scent). If you have any issues with your order we encourage to get in touch with us so we can help resolve and/or address your concern.
  • Why am I paying taxes ?
    Puraka Studios Corporation is a registered business in Ontario, Canada. To comply with the government rules we are obligated to collect and pay taxes. Thank you
  • Do you ship internationally ?
    Currently, we only ship within Canada and United States.
  • What happens if my products arrive broken ?
    No worries at all because we got you covered. Shipment and handling can sometimes lead to broken products as most of the packaging is made of glass. Should you experience this, we kindly ask you to reach out to us, send us a pictures of the broken item and we will be happy to send you the same product as a replacement; considering supplies are still available.
  • Does the package come with an order receipt with prices ?
    Since all the orders receive a digital copy of the receipt via email, we do not send invoice or receipts in the package. This way if you are sending the package to a loved one you don't have to worry about them receiving product cost information. Should you wish to receive a packing slip, please do reach out to us with your order number and name and we will happily pack one for you in your order.
  • What if an item I ordered is missing ?
    Oops. As I say "we" and "us" throughout the website, it is actually just me, one person, who does everything and I love it :) At times I can make human mistakes and may pack a wrong item or miss an item in the order. But no worries at all. Should this happen with your order please just reach out to me and I will be more than happy to send you the missing item (the one on your order) at no cost to you and fix my mistake.
  • Why is the top of my candle looking weird after burning ?
    100% soy wax is unpredictable and leave bumpy, uneven top after it cools post burning. This happens due to the wax pool cooling at an inconsistent rate. This is actually a good indicator that your candle is made from 100% soy wax and not a soy blend. This property is innate to the soy wax and doesn't mean you did anything wrong. The bumpy top doesn't affect the performance of the candle in any way. Nature isn't perfect and that is its beauty.
  • I have a complaint to make, who should I contact ?
    You should contact us directly through email or the contact us form should you have any concerns, queries, complaints or feedback. We take your words very seriously and use your feedback to make our products and service better for everyone. We are not perfect but we can get close to that with your help. Send us a note.
  • Why are there oil droplets or sweating on top of my candle wax surface ?
    Sometimes during shipment, the parcels may be stored at various temperatures which could have an impact on the look of the candle. Sometimes, the fragrance oil might seep through at the top looking like the candle is sweating. If you see this when you receive your candle, just take a tissue and wipe it off and you are good to go. And don't worry, those few droplets are just from the very top surface of your candle which is still loaded with aromatic premium phathalate free fragrance oil.
  • Do you offer customization ?
